Chapter 24: You're Too Weak
Binhai University is located in the flourishing garden district of Binhai's northwest suburbs, where the environment is picturesque and the scenery delightful.
The campus boasts elegant trees and clear waters, with a pristine artificial river winding through its heart, connecting lakes and streams that nurture the lofty aspirations and refined sentiments of generations of Binhai students.
Spanning over seven thousand acres, Binhai University's campus is divided into East and West Districts by the main north-south thoroughfare. The West District, the older campus, features traditional Chinese architecture, bearing the marks of the university's history over the past half-century.
Arriving at Binhai University on foot with Dai Keni, it was just past eight o'clock.
“Qin Ruo, come with me to the teacher’s apartment first. I need to change into a different outfit,” Dai Keni said.
“Sure,” Qin Ruo nodded.
The campus was vast, and as they walked along the wide paths, Qin Ruo noticed there were no students around, which piqued his curiosity.
Seeing his puzzled expression, Dai Keni explained with a smile, “Qin Ruo, the school is currently holding military training for the entire student body. The freshmen are all on the drill field, and the older students haven’t returned yet.”
“Oh, haha, I see,” Qin Ruo nodded. Shortly after, they passed through a lotus pond and arrived at the teacher’s apartment building.
“Do you want to come up with me?” Qin Ruo asked, a statement that seemed utterly out of place.
“Pfft, Qin Ruo, the female teachers’ apartment has never had a male visitor. I think you’d better stay down here!” Dai Keni covered her mouth and laughed, her chest trembling with a wave of allure.
“Alright, I’ll stay down here then!” Qin Ruo thought about it and felt a bit embarrassed by his earlier remark. Indeed, how could a male be allowed into the female teachers’ apartment?
“You can come up tonight when you help me with my luggage!” Dai Keni whispered before quickly heading up to the apartment.
Qin Ruo stood there idly, lighting a cigarette. About ten minutes later, Dai Keni came back downstairs.
She was now dressed in a gray uniform skirt suit. Her previously charming and elegant demeanor transformed instantly into that of a stunningly beautiful university teacher.
Dai Keni had tied her long hair back, her face free of any makeup yet still radiating beauty. Her figure was strikingly captivating, with her curves almost bursting the buttons of her top. Black stockings adorned her thighs, her legs long and slender, and she wore high heels that added a visually striking and tempting allure.
Seeing this sight, Qin Ruo swallowed hard. Dai Keni was truly gorgeous. Wearing this teacher’s uniform, she exuded an irresistible charm.
“Qin Ruo, what’s wrong? Haven’t you seen a beautiful woman before?” Dai Keni teased, holding back a laugh as she noticed his dazed expression.
“Not one as beautiful as you!” Qin Ruo replied.
“You’re talking nonsense. Both Xia Fei Xuan and Lin Yan’er are just as stunning in looks and figure as I am,” Dai Keni said.
She was telling the truth. Although she had been voted the sexiest female teacher at Binhai University upon her arrival, the other two exceptional women by Qin Ruo’s side were no less beautiful, sparking a hint of rivalry within her.
“I’m not exaggerating, Teacher Dai. You are absolutely the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen, truly!” Qin Ruo said with a serious expression.
Dai Keni couldn’t help but laugh at his words, her chest trembling again. “Oh, I mustn’t listen to a man’s sweet talk. You could charm the stars out of the sky!”
Qin Ruo put on a wronged expression and said, “You don’t believe what this Living Lei Feng says?”
“Alright, I’m just teasing you. Let’s go to the drill field now. The students in my class are quite a handful!” Dai Keni sighed as she spoke.
Qin Ruo didn’t respond, but he thought to himself, with a beautiful homeroom teacher like you, the students must have fantasized about you countless times.
Soon, they arrived at the school’s drill field. At that moment, the field resembled a military camp, filled with university students in camouflage uniforms marching in formation. Loud chants echoed continuously, brimming with youthful energy.
The scorching sun baked the ground like burnt bread, emitting waves of intense heat. Yet the students persevered through the sweltering weather, and their performance was commendable.
The spirited students were a refreshing sight. Though they lacked the strict discipline of soldiers, they still managed to resemble them by seventy or eighty percent. However, not far away, one class stood out for their utter lack of enthusiasm.
The students in this class stood listlessly, chatting among themselves. The girls were applying sunscreen, while the boys grumbled about the harshness of military training.
In front of this class was an ordinary-looking instructor with a tanned, capable face. Looking at these pampered university students, the sergeant wore a troubled expression and said, “Students, show some spirit, please. Lift your energy! Today’s university students should be vibrant and motivated, not lethargic like you!”
Hearing the instructor’s words, the students of this class let out a chorus of dismissive noises. Some even muttered under their breath, “What’s the point of standing in the sun and marching? They might as well let us play with guns or practice shooting.”
“Exactly, I don’t want to just stand here!”
Upon hearing the students’ complaints, Dai Keni, who had just arrived, replaced her smiling expression with a cold one and said, “Class Three, pull yourselves together!”
Seeing their beautiful homeroom teacher, many of the male students’ eyes lit up as if injected with adrenaline. Her words carried more weight than the instructor’s.
Some of the more lecherous boys whispered, “Military training is boring, but at least we have the most beautiful teacher in the school to look at. Tsk tsk, Teacher Dai gets more pleasing to the eye every time I see her.”
“Isn’t that right? Teacher Dai is known as the top beauty among the school’s three most stunning female teachers, and she’s only 26, already a university instructor!”
Hearing the murmurs around her, Dai Keni’s expression soured. She walked up to the military instructor and asked, “Instructor Zhang, how did my class perform this morning?”
“Haha, Teacher Dai, your class is tough to manage. They refuse to train and just want to play with guns. But they can’t even get the basic marching right, so how could they handle firearms?” Instructor Zhang replied.
“Mm, you’re right, Instructor Zhang,” Dai Keni nodded in agreement. Just then, Qin Ruo’s lazy voice chimed in, “If the students want to handle guns, let them. This kind of training is so dull it could bore a bird to death.”
Instructor Zhang turned to look at Qin Ruo. This young man was dressed casually, exuding a laid-back vibe. He was older than the students but didn’t seem like a teacher.
Curious, Instructor Zhang asked, “Teacher Dai, is this a school teacher?”
Dai Keni shot Qin Ruo a glance, as if scolding him for speaking out of turn. Qin Ruo obediently shut his mouth. Dai Keni smiled and shook her head, “No, he’s just a friend of mine.”
“Oh,” Instructor Zhang nodded after hearing that Qin Ruo was just an ordinary friend of Dai Keni’s, and he didn’t pay him much attention after that.
At that moment, a captain approached from a distance, his face cold and stern. Seeing the laziness of Class Three, his expression darkened, and he barked icily, “Zhang Yi, get over here!”
“Yes, sir!” Zhang Yi immediately saluted respectfully.
“Are you a complete idiot? Can’t even manage a bunch of university students? What’s going on here?” The captain looked extremely displeased.
“Reporting, sir, the students of Class Three find marching pointless, so they’re resisting training!” Zhang Yi replied somewhat helplessly. Having been a student himself once, he understood their mindset, but he still reported the situation honestly.
The captain glared coldly at the students of Class Three, a sharp glint in his eyes, and said, “So, you little flowers of the nation want to play with guns, huh?”
“What do you mean, Instructor? We’re adults. What’s with calling us flowers of the nation?”
“Yeah, you’re insulting us modern university students!”
“Hah, in my eyes, you trash are nothing but flowers of the nation. You don’t even have the guts to endure a simple military training. If you’re not trash, what are you? And you dare talk about handling guns? Are you even qualified? If anyone disagrees, step up and challenge me. If you win, I’ll leave you alone!” The captain declared arrogantly.
Many students fell silent, but one sturdy student stepped forward and said to the captain, “If I beat you, we get to play with guns, right?”
“Hah, you’re too weak,” the captain shook his head, not taking him seriously at all.
“Then I won’t hold back!” The student swung his fist at the captain. The captain didn’t dodge; instead, he swiftly kicked the student in the abdomen.
With a thud, the student collapsed to the ground, defeated before even getting close to the captain. He clutched his stomach in pain, groaning softly. The entire field fell silent, everyone looking at the captain with a trace of fear in their eyes.
“This is what happens when you want to play with guns. You can’t even handle basic training, yet you aim so high. How utterly ridiculous!” The captain sneered. At that moment, his gaze suddenly landed on Qin Ruo, who stood beside Dai Keni.
“Why isn’t this student in formation?” he asked coldly.
Qin Ruo was taken aback, and Dai Keni looked equally stunned. Just as Dai Keni was about to clarify that he wasn’t a student, Qin Ruo spoke up first, “Sorry, Instructor. I couldn’t help but doze off listening to your nonsense earlier. My apologies.”
Hearing Qin Ruo’s words, the students couldn’t help but stifle their laughter. The serious atmosphere that had been painstakingly built up was shattered by this outrageous guy’s single remark. What a character!
The captain’s face darkened like a storm cloud, as if water could drip from it. “So, you must be the troublemaker of this class, huh? Alright, kid. Do you dare to fight me? If you win, I’ll let you off. If you lose, you’ll have to pay the price for what you just said.”
Qin Ruo’s eyes showed confusion, though inwardly he was laughing. Pretending to be puzzled, he asked, “Oh, I’d like to hear what kind of price that would be.”
