Chapter 12: Lord Qin, Are You Alright?

Chapter 12: Lord Qin, Are You Alright?

"Who do you think you are?" a male officer said coldly.

Lin Yan'er, however, felt that this matter was not so simple. This man was far too calm, exuding an aura of overwhelming dominance from head to toe.

The police station seemed like nothing in his eyes; even having a gun pointed at his head didn't faze him in the slightest.

Combined with the blank background check from before, Lin Yan'er seemed to have guessed the man's origins.

A special forces soldier without official records?

"Go notify the Chief!" Lin Yan'er said. She knew this could be big or small, better to let the Chief decide.

"Yes, Officer Lin!"

In no time, a pot-bellied Chief hurried over, with several officers respectfully greeting him.

Zhang Tiejun looked impatient as he turned to Lin Yan'er and asked, "Xiao Lin, what's going on?"

"Reporting to the Chief, we couldn't find any records on this man in the police database, and he specifically asked to see you," Lin Yan'er said with a hint of gravity.

Zhang Tiejun eyed Qin Ruo with curiosity and chuckled, "Oh? No records in the police system? Interesting. Young man, I'm Zhang Tiejun,Chief of the Binhai City Police Bureau. What do you want with me?"

Qin Ruo said, "That little Zhang, you're the Chief of Binhai City Police Bureau?"

Little Zhang?

The tense atmosphere in the room instantly shattered at the nickname. All the officers wanted to laugh but held it in, while those who already disliked Qin Ruo had to admit, this kid was a master at showing off.

Lin Yan'er stared wide-eyed at Qin Ruo. Was this guy just bluffing, or was he the real deal? Daring to call a vice-departmental level Chief 'little Zhang'?

The man called 'little Zhang'—that is,Chief Zhang Tiejun—didn't look pleased. His face darkened like it could drip water, and he said coldly, "Kid, believe it or not, just for that, I could lock you up for life."

Zhang Tiejun wasn't exaggerating. As the Chief of a prefecture-level city's police bureau, his power was immense.

Qin Ruo just shook his head with a smile. "You wouldn't dare. Anyway, Lord Qin doesn't have time to chat with you. Now call Liu An over."

"You think you're some big shot? Fuck, believe it or not, I could have you shot. Wait, which Liu An are you talking about?" Zhang Tiejun was furious at first, but the name Liu An made him halt his anger.

"Heh, how many Liu Ans are there in Binhai City?" Qin Ruo countered flatly.

Zhang Tiejun felt a chill creep over him, a sense of trouble brewing. In Binhai City, only a handful of people knew the name Liu An.

This guy really has a big background?

"You mean Liu An, President Liu?" Zhang Tiejun probed cautiously.

Qin Ruo nodded faintly.

Zhang Tiejun sucked in a cold breath inwardly. He was already thinking of releasing Qin Ruo. Anyone who knew the name of the Kyushu Society's branch president was no one he could afford to offend. But things had gone this far, so he simply dialed Liu An's number.

Ten minutes later.

A luxury black Mercedes pulled up outside the station. An elderly man in a Zhongshan suit strode in. In the interrogation room, Zhang Tiejun led a group of officers to personally welcome him.

"Heh, Old Liu, you've arrived."

"Little Zhang, what do you need me for?" Liu An asked curiously.

This was the second time that day the police heard someone call the Chief 'little Zhang'—from disbelief earlier to numbness now.

"Old Liu, there's a young man inside suspected of intentional assault. We arrested him, and the kid actually knew your name and told us to call you," Zhang Tiejun explained honestly.

"Oh no, trouble," Liu An instinctively felt something was wrong, and with Zhang Tiejun's words, that unease ballooned.

He hurried into the interrogation room. A young man had his feet propped up on the table, looking every bit the big boss. Zhang Tiejun snorted coldly at the sight. "Insolent!"

Liu An said icily, "Insolent!"

"Old Liu, I say this kid is way too arrogant. Might as well lock him up," Zhang Tiejun vented his extreme dissatisfaction with Qin Ruo.

Liu An turned back coldly, his gaze fixed on Zhang Tiejun. "I'm saying you're the insolent one!"

What?!

Zhang Tiejun was dumbfounded. Liu An's old face broke into a smile as he walked over. "Lord Qin, are you alright?"
