Chapter 11: The Central Province Continent

Chapter 11: The Central Province Continent

"Grandfather, hurry up and get up to kill Chu Feng!"

Chu Jian screamed desperately, but Chu Maode lay completely motionless on the ground.

"Chu Feng, did you poison my grandfather?"

Chu Jian was convinced that Chu Feng must have used some underhanded scheme to bring his grandfather down.

There was no other explanation for his grandfather's condition.

"Clan Master, hurry and capture Chu Feng!" Chu Jian turned to look at Chu Tianyue.

With Chu Maode's fate unknown, Chu Jian could only count on Chu Tianyue to deal with Chu Feng.

However, Chu Tianyue merely glanced at Chu Jian with an indifferent look and made no move.

A short while later, Chu Feng walked up to Chu Maode, grabbed him by the head, and hauled him upright.

"Chu Feng, what are you trying to do?"

"Let go of my grandfather right now!"

Seeing Chu Feng grab Chu Maode by the head, Chu Jian felt a sudden wave of dread wash over him.

"What am I doing? Just watch." Chu Feng let out a cold laugh.

With that, Chu Feng released his grip on Chu Maode — but the hand he had just lifted came crashing back down in an instant.

Bang!

Like a watermelon being smashed, Chu Maode's skull shattered in an instant, brains splattering in every direction.

"Ahhh!"

The onlookers cried out in horror and scrambled backward.

The men who had been carrying Chu Jian immediately dropped him and fled.

Chu Jian crashed hard onto the ground. His injuries screamed with pain — yet his mind had gone completely blank, and he had forgotten all about it.

"Chu Feng, you......"

Both Chu Tianyue and Chu Wenshan stared at Chu Feng in stunned disbelief, unable to believe he could be so ruthlessly brutal in killing Chu Maode.

At the same time, a deep suspicion stirred within them.

The Chu Feng they knew could never have been this merciless. For a fleeting moment, they wondered if the person standing before them was even the same Chu Feng.

"It's just killing someone. What's there to make a fuss about?" Chu Feng said calmly.

In his previous life, Chu Feng had killed more people than he could count.

Taking a life was nothing more than an ordinary matter to him.

Though the killing of Chu Maode had been a bit bloody, it served to intimidate those around him — a warning not to provoke him.

"Chu Feng, you bastard! You'll die a horrible death! I swear I'll kill you someday — I will kill you!"

At that moment, Chu Jian snapped back to his senses and broke down into a frenzied torrent of curses.

"Someday? Do you really think you'll have a 'someday'?"

Chu Feng let out a faint, contemptuous chuckle and slowly walked toward Chu Jian.

"What are you going to do?"

"Clan Master, save me!"

Seeing Chu Feng approaching, Chu Jian ignored his pain and frantically scrambled backward.

"Chu Feng, Chu Jian is just a useless wretch — there's no need to kill him," Chu Wenshan spoke up to plead for mercy.

Boom!

Chu Feng paid no heed to Chu Wenshan. He closed in on Chu Jian and delivered a savage kick to his chest, killing him outright.

Chu Jian may have been an insignificant nobody, but he had already become an enemy — and Chu Feng could not allow enemies to live.

Seeing that Chu Feng had ignored his words and killed Chu Jian anyway, Chu Wenshan let out a quiet sigh and said nothing more.

The Chu Feng of today was already beyond his power to stop.

Chu Tianyue, for his part, showed no sign of reproach toward Chu Feng. He immediately arranged for people to clean up the scene, then courteously invited Chu Feng to the rear hall to discuss matters.

The Chu Clan's rear hall.

"Chu Feng, I never imagined you would become so formidable. You dispatched Chu Maode with such ease!" Chu Tianyue exclaimed with admiration.

For a long time, Chu Tianyue had wanted to be rid of Chu Maode.

But Chu Maode had always been cautious, and his cultivation was higher than Chu Tianyue's — so Chu Tianyue had never found the opportunity to eliminate him.

Now that Chu Feng had done it, Chu Tianyue felt nothing but deep gratitude.

Unlike Chu Maode, Chu Feng was not someone Chu Tianyue needed to fear.

With such power at so young an age, Chu Feng would surely not content himself with staying in a small place like Qingfeng Town forever.

Chu Tianyue had no reason to worry that Chu Feng would compete with him for the position of Chu Clan head.

"Chu Feng, your cultivation is only at the first level of the Spirit Entry Stage — how can you be this powerful?" Chu Wenshan voiced the question that had been nagging at him.

"I happened upon a Fortuitous Encounter," Chu Feng replied lightly.

"A Fortuitous Encounter?"

"Chu Feng, the movement technique and spirit techniques you used earlier were both incredibly powerful. Did you obtain them through that Fortuitous Encounter?"

"Could you teach them to the clan's disciples so they can grow stronger as well?" Chu Tianyue asked, his face full of eager anticipation.

Chu Wenshan's expression mirrored the same eagerness upon hearing this.

If Chu Feng, at only the first level of the Spirit Entry Stage, could so easily kill Lu Maode at the second level of the True Spirit Stage, then whatever Fortuitous Encounter he had obtained must be extraordinary indeed.

Both Chu Tianyue and Chu Wenshan hoped Chu Feng would contribute some of that fortune to make the Chu Clan stronger.

"Those are not things you can learn," Chu Feng said plainly.

Most of the spirit techniques Chu Feng had used required demonic energy to execute, driven by the Chaos Art.

The Chaos Art was something Chu Feng could never pass on to the Chu Clan.

"Oh..."

Both Chu Tianyue and Chu Wenshan looked crestfallen, though neither dared to press the matter.

"Those you cannot learn — but I do have some Mystic-grade cultivation techniques and spirit techniques I can pass on to you."

The Upper Realm had many widely circulated general-purpose cultivation techniques — the most common ones available up there.

But here in the Desolate Remnant Realm, they would be considered extraordinarily powerful.

"Mystic-grade cultivation techniques and spirit techniques?"

Chu Tianyue and Chu Wenshan were overjoyed.

The Chu Clan only possessed the lowest-grade Yellow-grade martial arts and spirit techniques. If they truly received Mystic-grade cultivation techniques and spirit techniques, the entire clan's strength would surely grow rapidly.

"Indeed." Chu Feng gave a slight nod.

Chu Feng also possessed Earth-grade, Heaven-grade, and even Saint-grade and Divine-grade techniques — but those were all unsuitable for the Chu Clan.

Techniques of too high a caliber were beyond the Chu Clan's ability to protect. They would only invite the disaster of annihilation.

If Chu Feng remained to shelter the clan, it would be fine — but he would be leaving soon.

Not wanting the Chu Clan to be wiped out after his departure, he could only pass on Mystic-grade techniques and spirit techniques.

"Wonderful!"

Chu Tianyue and Chu Wenshan rose to their feet in excitement and began pacing back and forth.

A short while later, Chu Feng wrote down several cultivation techniques and spirit techniques and handed them to Chu Tianyue.

"Cultivate them yourselves first, then pass them on to the Chu Clan's elite disciples."

"I will be leaving in some time. Practice diligently, and come to me with any questions," Chu Feng said quietly.

"Chu Feng, where do you plan to go after you leave?"

Hearing that Chu Feng intended to leave, Chu Tianyue grew anxious.

Right now, Chu Feng was the strongest person in the Chu Clan. Chu Tianyue had hoped Chu Feng would shelter the clan for a while longer.

He hadn't expected Chu Feng to be leaving so soon.

"The Central Province Continent, most likely," Chu Feng said calmly.

The land where Chu Feng currently resided was the Eastern Desolate Continent of the Desolate Remnant Realm — a wild and barren territory where Spiritual Energy was thin.

The Central Province Continent, on the other hand, was the continent with the most abundant Spiritual Energy in all of the Desolate Remnant Realm, and the premier sacred ground for cultivation throughout the entire realm.

Chu Feng intended to head to the Central Province Continent, grow stronger quickly, and then find a way to return to the Upper Realm.

"The Central Province Continent?"

Both Chu Tianyue and Chu Wenshan were visibly stunned.

The Eastern Desolate Continent held hundreds of empires, and Qingfeng Town was merely the most remote corner of the Cangfeng Empire.

Chu Tianyue and Chu Wenshan rarely ventured beyond Qingfeng Town, let alone outside the Cangfeng Empire.

To them, the Central Province Continent was the stuff of legend.
