Chapter 11: Ancient Secrets… So Epic!
Chapter 11: Ancient Secrets… So Epic!
Uncle finally believed that nothing was wrong with him.
With a physique and strength like this, even his younger self would have been envious.
Seeing that they were no longer worried, Su Ning helped them with a few things.
He borrowed a car to go into town and buy daily supplies.
After purchasing everything on the shopping list, Su Ning returned the car to Uncle's house and headed back home to resume his cultivation.
"I've already completed one full Circulation Cycle, and it's barely past four in the afternoon." And that was after spending a good chunk of the morning shopping.
This meant Su Ning's cultivation speed had at least doubled — from now on, he could complete more than two Circulation Cycles in a single day.
That kind of progress was genuinely surprising.
Su Ning had no frame of reference for how fast others cultivated. In this world, he was probably the only person practicing immortal cultivation — as for the little people, they weren't a valid comparison.
Their method of cultivation during the Qi Refining Realm seemed different from his own.
According to the little people, reaching the Qi Refining Realm in their world was relatively easy, though it varied by individual constitution.
After finishing his cultivation session, Su Ning had nothing to do, so he watched what the little people were up to.
He enjoyed watching their way of life every day — it felt magical.
Far more entertaining than scrolling through videos on his phone.
The little people were growing more and more accustomed to life here.
Some were deep in cultivation, others were just being lazy and taking a break — clearly tired from training — while Kunlun Immortal Maiden and Nameless Sword Immortal were sparring.
"Kunlun Immortal Maiden, we were the first to break through. Let's spar and see what we've each gained from our recent cultivation. Shall we stop before it gets serious?" Nameless Sword Immortal stood in his azure robes, hands clasped behind his back, hovering in the air.
He cut an imposing figure — the very image of a peerless sword immortal.
A gentle breeze drifted past.
It lifted the hem of his robe and his long hair, making him look like an exiled immortal descended into the mortal world.
Kunlun Immortal Maiden was draped in white, her figure graceful and exquisite, like a fairy from the Jade Pool.
She was breathtakingly beautiful — not in a delicate, small-town way, but with a grand, cloud-dwelling magnificence. Her features were impossibly refined, as if carved by the heavens themselves with painstaking care. As for her figure and proportions… truly stunning.
Su Ning had never seen a woman so beautiful. Not the over-filtered influencers on his phone, not the flawlessly photographed celebrities who looked perfect from every angle — none of them came close to Kunlun Immortal Maiden.
She was beautiful. Breathtakingly, incomparably beautiful.
The only flaw was that she was far too small.
"Sure!" Kunlun Immortal Maiden agreed readily.
"I've long wanted to experience Nameless Sword Immortal's sword dao…"
"The last time we crossed blades was in the lower realm. We exchanged a single move from millions of miles apart, and I've been looking for a chance to have a proper fight with you ever since!" Kunlun Immortal Maiden was equally fierce.
She had founded the immortal Kunlun Sacred Ground in the lower realm and built a legendary reputation — not by relying on her looks alone.
The lower realm universally acclaimed her as the greatest female Saint of all time.
Whenever Kunlun Immortal Maiden's name was mentioned, men and women alike felt a sense of pressure.
She was a female Saint who had gone undefeated her entire life, ascending to a divine status no one had ever challenged.
"Then… forgive my offense!" Nameless Sword Immortal's body flashed as he shot toward Kunlun Immortal Maiden.
"Ten Thousand Swords…"
Ding ding ding…
Nameless Sword Immortal split one sword into ten thousand.
A dense swarm of tiny white swords erupted from behind his head.
They blanketed the sky and swept forward like a tidal wave.
A tsunami of swords.
Nameless Sword Immortal stood at the center of the storm of flying swords.
"Kunlun Immortal Art…"
Kunlun Immortal Maiden formed hand seals.
A "massive" orb of light enveloped her, shimmering with five colors, its surface flowing with immortal runes.
Su Ning watched Kunlun Immortal Maiden's attack and rubbed his chin.
She had indeed grown stronger.
Compared to when she fought the spider last time, there was one new addition — those runes.
"But the improvement is too small…" Su Ning assessed.
At their current level of strength, they still wouldn't be able to defeat the spider that had hunted them down before.
Clang clang clang…
Beneath the small tree, Kunlun Immortal Maiden and Nameless Sword Immortal were locked in fierce combat.
The tide of swords surged to engulf Kunlun Immortal Maiden.
But each flying sword that touched her rune-light orb was deflected, or simply shattered and broke apart!
"Kunlun Immortal Art… Azure Dragon Bind!"
Roar…
A creature in the shape of an Azure Dragon burst forth from Kunlun Immortal Maiden's rune-light orb and crashed toward Nameless Sword Immortal.
Nameless Sword Immortal's expression shifted.
"Kunlun Immortal Maiden has indeed gained a great deal…"
With that, Nameless Sword Immortal formed a sword-finger gesture and wove a complex seal.
"Azure Mystic Sword Dao!"
"Open!"
Nameless Sword Immortal called out sharply.
A great sword of fire, no wider than a finger, condensed before him — first the tip, then the blade, then the hilt — each part materializing in sequence.
Whoosh…
Roar…
The great sword and the Azure Dragon slammed into each other.
Rumble…
A small explosion erupted.
The sword and the Azure Dragon shattered simultaneously.
Both Nameless Sword Immortal and Kunlun Immortal Maiden were sent flying by the blast.
Kunlun Immortal Maiden said coldly: "My guess was right. You are not a person of this age — you are an Ancient Supreme reborn. Unless I'm mistaken… you are the Sword Saint among the Ancient Supremes, Li Qingxuan!"
The Dao within Nameless Sword Immortal carried the aura of an Ancient Supreme — an aura Kunlun Immortal Maiden had encountered during a Secret Realm trial in her youth. The memory was vivid, because she had nearly perished because of it.
"Kunlun Immortal Maiden truly possesses great wisdom — there is no hiding it from you." Li Qingxuan admitted openly.
"I had long suspected you were not of this era. And so it is…" Even knowing the truth, Kunlun Immortal Maiden still felt a wave of astonishment.
"There was no other way. In ancient times, it was divined that only in this age would the path to immortality open. So I had no choice but to lie dormant and wait." Li Qingxuan said with a helpless sigh.
This seemed to touch upon a tremendous secret of the cultivation world.
But to Su Ning, it didn't seem to mean much.
You endured countless ages of dormancy, all just to ascend to this godforsaken place called Earth?
For that goal, you really did give it everything you had.
"Hmph… Before I proved my Dao, I was ambushed by an Ancient Supreme and nearly had my life and Dao extinguished. From that day on, I swore I would find the remnants of the Ancient Supremes and have my revenge." Kunlun Immortal Maiden said coldly.
"Immortal Maiden, please do not misunderstand. Li Qingxuan has always acted with honor and integrity — whoever ambushed you was someone else entirely." Li Qingxuan responded calmly.
He wasn't afraid of Kunlun Immortal Maiden seeking revenge. He simply didn't want internal strife breaking out in the already dangerous Immortal Realm.
Right now, unity and survival were the only things that mattered.
"Li has never involved himself in the conflicts of Qiankun Realm — you know this as well."
A Saint's word carries absolute weight. There was no reason to lie.
Kunlun Immortal Maiden swept her gaze across the surrounding Saints.
Could there be remnants of the Ancient Supremes among them as well?
Caught in her cold, piercing stare, the other Saints furrowed their brows but said nothing more.
As fellow supreme Saints, they all possessed extraordinarily strong wills.
None of them considered themselves inferior to another — not even to the greatest female Saint of all time.
Su Ning looked down at the little people.
He hadn't expected that among the little people themselves, there were actually conflicts simmering beneath the surface.
Rivals, hunters, schemers?
For the sake of Ascension — for the sake of surviving long enough to reach the right moment for it — they had laid plans across countless ages, ensnaring and slaying countless powerful cultivators?
That's incredibly epic…
If it were written as a novel, every single one of these little people would be the protagonist of their own story. Their experiences alone could fill millions of words.
