Chapter 008: I Don't Have the Habit of Following Others

Chapter 008: I Don't Have the Habit of Following Others

Shortly after Tian Mengqian left, Lin Feng sensed that the Peach Blossom Manual had changed.

During break time, students were everywhere. Lin Feng didn't take out the Peach Blossom Manual, but waited until he got home to investigate.

Sure enough, the mission was complete, and he'd earned 2 Peach Blossom Points as a reward.

Mastering all mathematics below high school level only required 1 Peach Blossom Point. With 2 Peach Blossom Points, he could master all mathematics below university level. Peach Blossom Points were valuable, and Lin Feng was reluctant to waste them.

Placing his palm on the Peach Blossom Manual, Lin Feng quickly mastered all mathematics content below high school level.

1 Peach Blossom Point remained.

Lin Feng wanted to make good use of it.

Now that he'd learned the upper half of Iron Shirt, his body's passive defense ability had greatly increased.

The best defense is offense. Lin Feng wanted to learn a martial art for attacking.

However, after looking for a while, Lin Feng was disappointed. There were many offensive martial arts, but even the most basic ones, like Iron Sand Palm, required 10 Peach Blossom Points to learn. As for more advanced and powerful martial arts, they required even more Peach Blossom Points.

Of course, there were plenty of things he could learn with 1 Peach Blossom Point, such as high school level Chinese, English, and so on, but these weren't what Lin Feng urgently needed.

After thinking it over, Lin Feng decided not to use this 1 Peach Blossom Point.

In the afternoon at school, Lin Feng pulled out his math materials and flipped through a few pages.

The math problems that had once seemed incredibly complex in Lin Feng's mind now appeared no different from one plus one equals two. Even the extremely difficult bonus questions—he could think of several solution methods in an instant and immediately select the most perfect answer.

When built on a foundation of complete mastery, difficulty basically had no meaning.

Lin Feng nodded to himself. At this rate, tomorrow's math test wouldn't just be a passing grade—getting a perfect score would be a piece of cake.

When school let out in the afternoon, Lin Feng made an excuse about having something to do and told Tian Mengqian to go home first.

Lin Feng knew that those thugs outside school couldn't let a grudge sit overnight. Skinny had been beaten by him this morning and would definitely gather people to come for revenge.

After wandering around the playground for a bit, and seeing that most people had left the school, Lin Feng finally strolled out the school gate.

Sure enough, Skinny was waiting at the school entrance with about ten people. Thick gauze was wrapped around Skinny's nose, faintly showing the crimson stain of blood.

Zhang Kaiwei wasn't there. This was no longer about the grudge between Zhang Kaiwei and Lin Feng—it had escalated to a blood feud between Skinny and Lin Feng.

"Damn it, Skinny, everyone's gone. Did that kid not dare come to school?" One thug was getting impatient and questioned irritably.

"I asked around—he came to school. Brothers, let's wait a bit longer."

"Skinny!"

Hearing one of his brothers call his name with an odd tone, Skinny immediately realized something. He turned to look at the school gate and immediately sneered viciously, "That kid's coming out!"

A man with a crew cut, not very tall but looking quite sturdy, glanced at Lin Feng with suspicious eyes, then turned to Skinny and said, "He's the one who beat you up like this?"

"Brother Dong, this kid's tough." Skinny's face reddened slightly, the anger in his heart rising even higher.

The man called Brother Dong was named Li Haidong. In the eyes of thugs like Skinny, he was already a real gangster. Li Haidong wasn't very old, just over twenty. He'd also started as a small-time thug, but after stabbing someone and crippling them, he'd served a year in prison. After getting out, he'd moved up and become a professional thug.

Skinny was bold and ruthless, so Li Haidong had taken him under his wing. Today, hearing that Skinny had been beaten, he'd expected some formidable opponent, but it turned out to be just an ordinary student.

Lin Feng walked up to Li Haidong and the others and stopped.

"Kid, you're dead today!" Skinny borrowed Li Haidong's authority, glaring viciously at Lin Feng.

Lin Feng swept his eyes over the ten or so people and, seeing that Li Haidong was the leader, said, "This is the school entrance. Should we change locations?"

Li Haidong was momentarily stunned, then nodded.

Afraid that Lin Feng would run away, Li Haidong signaled for everyone to surround Lin Feng in the middle.

***

Before long, the group turned into a sparsely populated alley.

"Kid, you've got some guts," Li Haidong pulled out a cigarette, and Skinny immediately lit it for him. After taking a drag, Li Haidong said, "I'll give you two choices. First, starting today, you follow me, and we'll forget about what happened between you and Skinny. Second, pay ten thousand yuan to compensate Skinny for medical and nutrition expenses."

Skinny was shocked. If Lin Feng really agreed to follow Li Haidong, his revenge would be hopeless. He quickly said, "Brother Dong..."

Li Haidong waved his hand with the air of a boss, cutting off Skinny's words.

Lin Feng had never taken this level of thug seriously. He smiled and said, "Sorry, but I don't have the habit of following others."

"Oh?" Li Haidong's face darkened. "So you're paying?"

Lin Feng shook his head. "I'm not planning to pay either."

"Fuck, giving you face and you don't want it. Today I'll cripple you!" Seeing Lin Feng's reckless attitude, Li Haidong spat out his cigarette and reached out to grab Lin Feng's hair.

Lin Feng was quite confident in his Iron Shirt.

It wasn't quite invulnerable to blades and bullets, but for ordinary people like Skinny, trying to hurt him with fists and feet was nothing but a pipe dream.

Seeing the other party make a move, Lin Feng didn't hold back either. If he didn't teach these people a lesson, they'd probably keep coming back endlessly.

Ignoring Li Haidong's attack, Lin Feng used the same method as before, instantly striking out with a punch aimed at Li Haidong's nose. Li Haidong was greatly alarmed, but his fighting experience was rich. At the critical moment, he actually turned his head and dodged Lin Feng's punch, which grazed past his cheek.

Feeling a burning pain on his cheek, Li Haidong touched his face—the skin had been scraped off.

"Fuck! Beat him to death!"

Li Haidong roared and charged at Lin Feng.

Seeing Li Haidong give the order, Skinny and the others also surrounded Lin Feng, punching and kicking him.

Lin Feng completely ignored their attacks. He clenched his fists, aimed at each thug's head one by one, then struck heavily.

With each punch, a thug went down.

Soon, Li Haidong realized something was wrong. Lin Feng's ability to take hits was terrifying. A cold gleam flashed in his eyes. He withdrew from the fight, picked up a brick from the ground, snuck behind Lin Feng, and brought it down hard on his head.

Bang!

The brick shattered into pieces, dust flying from the top of Lin Feng's head.

Several thugs were shocked, knowing the power of that brick. They all stopped, already starting to worry whether they'd killed someone.

"Damn it, stubborn bastard, forcing me to get serious!" Li Haidong spat and dusted off his hands.

Though he appeared nonchalant, seeing Lin Feng motionless, Li Haidong was also feeling uncertain.

Did I knock him stupid?
