Chapter 16: Scared to Pee!
Zheng Yukang pursed his lips. It wasn’t like they were in their own little world anyway. There were already two third wheels tagging along, so one more didn’t make much difference.
Yang Ning’s age made Zheng Yukang slightly lower his guard and hostility. If it were someone like Pei Yongxuan, one of Lin Manxuan’s suitors, Zheng Yukang wouldn’t compromise even if it meant a complete fallout.
Of course, that didn’t mean he’d forgive Yang Ning for showing off in front of him. Though Zheng Yukang was arrogant and overbearing, he wasn’t an idiot. He preferred to strike after assessing the situation, and until he figured out Yang Ning’s background, he wouldn’t act rashly.
But once he did strike, it would be with the force of thunder and lightning!
Hailan Celestial Melody was a name that circulated only among the elite circles of Huahai City. Located on the top floor of Pearl Tower, it was an upscale open-air restaurant with impeccable taste. Ordinary people probably didn’t even have the right to glance at it from afar.
The guests who frequented Hailan Celestial Melody were either wealthy or influential. The dishes here were outrageously expensive. The only reason Zhou Xuebin managed to secure a reservation was thanks to his father, Zhou Bokang.
The friends Zheng Yukang mentioned were two glamorous and trendy women, dressed in avant-garde fashion. Every few sentences, they’d throw in obscure English words to flaunt their culture and international flair.
Seeing Yang Ning, whose entire outfit probably didn’t cost more than five hundred yuan, the two women were polite on the surface but mentally categorized him as lower class.
“This season, ultra-short blunt bangs are going to be all the rage. Celebrities like Liu Mi, Chen Li, and Li Meng have all mentioned in media interviews that they’re having their stylists design this look for them. It’s bound to start a trend. Compared to them, Miss Lin is in no way inferior in terms of elegance or beauty. I’m sure if she got an ultra-short blunt bang hairstyle, she’d look even more captivating,” one of the women, A-Mei, started gushing as soon as they sat down, her flattery obvious.
However, Lin Manxuan merely sipped her juice, showing no intention of responding.
A-Li, sitting nearby, was quick on the uptake. Sensing that Lin Manxuan wasn’t interested in the topic, she immediately shifted gears. “Miss Lin, on the way here, A-Mei and I were just discussing this season’s Dior women’s collection. The main color palette leans toward darker grays, and we think the theme is nostalgia. If Miss Lin is interested, we can get our hands on the items as soon as they’re released. This season’s collection is limited edition, so quantities are scarce.”
“No, thank you,” Lin Manxuan replied with a polite smile.
Suddenly, A-Mei leaned in close to Lin Manxuan’s neck and lightly sniffed. The gesture was somewhat intimate, making Lin Manxuan slightly uncomfortable, though she didn’t voice her displeasure.
“Oh? Miss Lin, are you wearing Chanel’s Romantic? What a coincidence, I am too! By the way, the brand recently announced they’ll be launching a new fragrance this fall. I’m guessing it’ll be a follow-up to Romantic,” A-Mei said with anticipation.
“Is that so?” Lin Manxuan was starting to regret coming to this meal. Glancing at Yang Ning, who was happily eating and drinking, she couldn’t resist kicking him under the table.
Holy shit!
Who the hell just ambushed me?
Yang Ning’s wine glass shook, and the liquid inside—whether blackcurrant or grape juice—splashed onto his clothes. Fuming, he looked up, his gaze landing first on Zheng Yukang.
But the guy had his head tilted, staring at Lin Manxuan with a lecherous expression, his eyes practically glowing. It looked like his soul had left his body.
Guess it’s not him…
Yang Ning then turned his attention to A-Mei and A-Li. Both women were looking at him too, their expressions a mix of shock and disdain, as if Yang Ning’s reaction was incredibly rude in their eyes.
Not them either?
Yang Ning was going crazy. Finally, he looked at the least likely suspect—Lin Manxuan.
The woman was calmly holding her glass, elegantly swirling the small amount of red liquid inside. To Yang Ning, her composed demeanor screamed guilt.
Yang Ning was beyond frustrated. He grumbled inwardly, “What’s your problem? Why are you taking it out on me for no reason? If you’re having a breakdown, take your meds. Hey, don’t stop taking your meds!”
Setting his glass down with a huff, he muttered to himself, “Is this what they call getting hit while just lying there?”
“I’m going to the restroom,” Yang Ning said irritably.
Watching Yang Ning leave his seat in a huff, Lin Manxuan, who had been quietly sipping her wine, couldn’t help but let a faint smirk curl at the corner of her lips.
The restrooms at Hailan Celestial Melody were spotless. The clientele here generally had high standards. Yang Ning casually rinsed his hands, noticing someone else enter during that time, though he was too focused on washing to pay attention.
Feeling he’d cleaned up enough, Yang Ning wiped his hands and headed toward the urinal nearby. Truth be told, after holding it in all morning, he figured he had quite a bit stored up.
He hadn’t taken more than a few steps when he noticed someone looking at him with a half-smile. Hey, wasn’t that Zhou Xuebin?
“What a coincidence, running into Mr. Zhou here. You’re here to eat, right?” Yang Ning said with a cheeky grin.
“Heh, yeah…” Zhou Xuebin didn’t catch the jab at first, but when it hit him, his face turned green.
Pfft!
You’re the one eating here!
Your whole family eats in the restroom!
Glaring at Yang Ning with resentment, Zhou Xuebin didn’t bother hiding anything as he unzipped his pants. He seemed quite confident about his… size.
Soon, a steady stream echoed with a pitter-patter sound.
“Ahh, refreshing! Now that’s what I call strong momentum and lasting power,” Zhou Xuebin said smugly, glancing at Yang Ning with clear provocation in his tone.
But before he could fully turn his head, a loud splashing sound erupted. Wasn’t that water volume just way too exaggerated?
Zhou Xuebin instinctively looked at the urinal in front of Yang Ning. Sure enough, he saw a thick, powerful stream!
Holy shit!
Zhou Xuebin nearly cursed out loud. If his stream could barely be called a creek, then Yang Ning’s was practically a tsunami!
There was no comparison!
A wave of frustration and unwillingness surged within him. But then, his eyes widened, and his mouth gaped open wide enough to fit an egg!
Zhou Xuebin was scared to pee—literally scared to pee! He was genuinely terrified!
His already dwindling creek somehow burst forth again, as if a flood had erupted upstream. Unable to hold it back, it gushed out uncontrollably, splashing onto his clothes and pants!
Fuck!
Zhou Xuebin’s face turned deathly pale. His gaze was filled with unprecedented resentment and bitterness, his heart consumed by an inexplicable sense of humiliation and inferiority.
Damn it, did I forget to check the almanac before leaving the house today? I ran into this guy at the company, then again at Hailan Celestial Melody. First, he outsmarted me, and now he’s crushing me physically and mentally. Is this bastard my freaking nemesis?
I shouldn’t have gone to the Lin family’s company today, shouldn’t have come to… pfft, shouldn’t have come to Hailan Celestial Melody to eat, and definitely shouldn’t have been stupid enough to look at his damn thing!
No, wait!
I shouldn’t have left the house at all today!
If I hadn’t left, none of this crap would’ve happened!
And damn it, cursed heavens, you don’t have to hit me this hard! Are you deliberately messing with me?
“Bastard, just you wait! You just wait!”
After Yang Ning left, Zhou Xuebin cursed loudly. At this point, forget eating— he probably didn’t even have the mood to book a hotel room.
